We are pleased to invite academics, researchers, professionals and students to present research results with different visions, perspectives and critical analysis on the main theme of SIGradi 2020 Transformative design, highlighting the fundamental role of design, architecture and different project disciplines to drive social, cultural and material transformations, through conventional and disruptive technologies, promoting an integration between natural and artificial systems.

Call for abstracts

 We are pleased to invite academics, researchers, professionals and students to present research results or experimentations. We invite you to do the submission of abstracts until april 06, in English, Portuguese or Spanish, which will be blindly reviewed by an International Scientific Committee, according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Concordance with the main theme of the Conference Transformative design and conference tracks
  • Originality of the theme, problem or project
  • Relevance of the contribution to the field
  • Suitability of the methodology or techniques used
  • Suitability of the references
  • Overall organization of the abstract, according to the guidelines defined

The abstracts submitted must be writed based on APA Style Guidelines, must contain a maximum of 500 words, references are not included, and be based on the following structure:

TITLE: the title of the submitted paper should be concise and consistent with the purpose of the study.

KEYWORDS: a maximum of 5 Key words that identify the project.

INTRODUCTION: what is the problem studied? what is its relevance and its objectives?

METHODOLOGY: how was the study conducted? what steps, materials, and techniques were used?

RESULTS: what results are found or expected?

DISCUSSION: what is the contribution and impact to the knowledge area?

REFERENCES: which sources have been or will be consulted?

  • You may attach a single image that does not exceed A4 size at 150 dpi.
  • The evaluation of articles for oral presentation and publication will be done in two stages: abstract (first) and the complete work (second). Both will be evaluated by blind peer review mode.
  • Publications:

The complete works approved will be published in the SIGraDi’s Proceedings book, it will have an ISBN number. In addition, the complete works will be published on the Blucher and Cumincad platforms, in these links you can see examples of previous versions:

  • Since this is a blind evaluation, the text of the abstract should not mention the names of the authors nor the institution they belong to or any indication that allows authorship to be recognized.
  • The identification of all authors of the article (maximum 4) should be done only in the metadata filling, and already in the abstract’s submission phase.
  • There is no limit to the submission of abstracts by the main author or co-author.
  • Each registration in the congress will allow the presentation and publication of up to 2 articles.

Call for workshops

The SIGraDi’s workshops will be an attractive opportunity to share knowledge, to debate, to problematize, as well as to develop technical skills in a motivating and meaningful experience; the workshops will be held on November 16 and 17, 2020 at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia. The workshops tutors and assistants will receive a certificate.

We are very pleased to announce that we will receive workshops proposals, about the main theme Transformative design and conference’s tracks.

You must define the following items for your proposal:

  • Title of the workshop.
  • Time required: the workshops must last one or two days (8 or 16 hours).
  • Objective: define what kind of knowledge or skill you will develop in the activity.
  • Synthesis of the experience: explain the motivation of the proposal, what are the stages, activities and expected results, maximum 200 words.
  • Public to whom the workshop is aimed and how many people at least and maximum could participate.
  • Coherence with the conference: explain how it connects with the main theme and / or conference tracks, maximum 100 words.
  • Resources: determine what resources you need in terms of spaces, technologies, materials, logistic support, transportation, among others.
  • Financing: tell us if you have financial support or need financial support by SIGraDi 2020 Conference.

 

The evaluation and selection criteria will be the following:

  • Consistency with the main theme and / or tracks of the congress.
  • Originality: level of novelty of the proposal.
  • Feasibility: possibility of being carried out in time and with the necessary resources.

 

In SIGraDi 2020 conference and workshops, the following spaces and resources of the will be available:

1-RhinoFabStudio: it’s a digital fabrication laboratory, it has 20 computers with Rhinoceros 6.0 software, two laser cutters, three 3D printers(FDM tecnology), a 3D Printer DLP (Digital Light Processing Technology), it works with thermosensitive resin, a CNC milling machine with 3 axes, a 3D scanner, a Kuka robotic arm.

2-Laboratory with 20 PC computers, with the following software: Solid Works, Autocad, Revit, 3D Max and Sketcher.

6-Classrooms

7-LinkLab: it’s a creative laboratory that supports training, research, cultural and documentation processes, through ideation, experimentation and collaborative work. It has 25 MAC computers with Adobe suite software (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Premiere, among others) and 6 meeting tables.
