Call for PhD online Workshop
The SIGraDi PhD Workshop is a unique opportunity for PhD students to present and discuss their research proposals in the CAAD field and related topics. The workshop aims to promote interaction between doctoral students and more experienced researchers and collaboration between doctoral students working on similar topics. Student enrollments at any stage of the work are welcome.
The workshop will take place on November 16th and 17th from 9am to 11:30am. It is planned to discuss up to 10 proposals. In the case that more than 10 proposals are approved in the review process, the ones that are in the final phase and represent the diversity of topics in the area will be selected for presentation. The remaining candidates will receive written comments and are welcome to attend the workshop as listeners.
The Committee will select the best presentation, whose author will receive a certificate and a SIGraDi Conference attendee registration (or reimbursement), which includes one year’s membership of the society. In addition, the best presentations could be selected for the First Global PhD Workshop.
Deadline for research proposal submission: September 24th, 2020
Notification of approved proposals: October 5th, 2020
Revised proposal submission: November 2nd, 2020
PhD Workshop: November 16th and 17th, 2020
The research proposal should describe and contextualize the problem, present its relevance, the methods that will be used to develop it and expected contribution to the field. Being close to completion, the presentation should also describe the results.
Proposals can be written in English, Portuguese or Spanish and may have a maximum of 1,500 words. Entries must be uniquely authored, and the name of the advisor should be stated in the proposal.
Proposals must be sent through the Google Form (https://forms.gle/fgrTKr1Ajdx3dEW7A).
Workshop participants can also send articles to the SIGraDi congress, even if the title or content is similar.
The review process will take into account the quality of the research proposal and academic writing. Authors of approved proposals should incorporate the changes suggested by the reviewers and resubmit their papers by the final deadline.
Presentations and discussions will be in English, Portuguese or Spanish, but the slides must be in English.
The text and presentation should be preferably in English, although it is not mandatory.
